About Information: Dr. Christy Barnhart has worked as a nurse for 20 years and has worked in education for the past 13 years. She is compassionate about serving West Virginia and Pennsylvania patients diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes affects 30 million Americans, and in West Virginia, 33% of the population is diagnosed with type 1 or 2 diabetes.  Many people don't understand how to manage their diabetes, and that is where she will help with education on self-management of diabetes. Some examples of patient education include: how to use a glucometer, take medications, how to count carbohydrates, and how to make little lifestyle changes to manage this disease.

Mission: Offering a team-based approach to people with diabetes to meet their complex needs and improve overall health outcomes.

Vision: Premiere provider of easy-to-understand diabetic education. Giving resources that empower patients and their families to take control of and improve their own health.
